Red and Gold 2024

July 24th-28th, 2024

Court day and alarde of the Barony of Knights Crossing

(The registration form can be found at the end of the page)

“Red and gold” – the colors of the Knights Crossing Barony – under this motto the Canton Meadowmarsh once again invites you to a memorable event:

The highly praiseworthy Baronesses of the venerable Barony of Knights Crossing deign to hold court days from the twenty-fourth day of July to the twenty-eighth of the same month.

In honor of the baronesses and the proud colors of the barony’s coat of arms, all sorts of entertainment and competitions will take place – so that all subjects may have the opportunity to test their abilities in areas of art, skill, knowledge and combat.

Don’t miss these days of special events, diverse joy and entertainment!

Activities

Instead of the “Red against Gold” competition of previous years, there will be other classes and activities this year, which ideally – but not necessarily – should have a “Red and Gold” context.

There will be a kind of stage on which competitions and lectures can take place within a limited time window. Summaries and results of the day’s activities as well as ideas for classes and activities for the next day can also be announced there.

Of course, like in recent years, there will also be archery, light and heavy fighting.

General information

The event is a camping event, but modern tents are also allowed (in a separate area to the side of the meadow).

We will put up weather shelters in case of rain. But it would certainly be nice if some visitors could bring their own weather roofs.

For participants who do not have their own camping equipment or cannot bring it with them, we will endeavor to enable participation. There are affordable accommodations in the surrounding area (list on request).

We will also organize a shuttle service from/to the airport/train station if possible. It is important that you tell us if you need it as early as possible so we can organize it.

We will provide fire pits and grills. The event is self-catering and there are excellent shopping opportunities within a 5 km radius. However, we will still try to create an option where pre-ordered food can be delivered to the site on Thursday and Friday evening. Furthermore, we will offer breakfast for little money for people without their own means (but only for them).

As in previous years, the sports center is only available to us to a limited extent, as it now houses a forest kindergarten. However, the showers may still be used.

We have to take care of the rest of the infrastructure ourselves:

– A refrigerated truck will be located next to the site for perishable food
– As always, there is the option to book the feast on Saturday
– We will also provide washing up facilities again so that you don’t have to use the sinks in the toilet building.

The core team only consists of very few people, which is why this year we are once again relying on volunteers to help us manage this event. In particular, helpers for the kitchen and for cleaning up on Sundays are needed very much!
Thank you so much in advance!
